The Support Activities During the Hot Weather for the Vulnerable People

Korean Red Cross(KRC, President Park Kyung-Seo) started the aid project for the vulnerable people preparing for hot weather.

Through 15 branches nationwide, KRC will provide 400 million won worth of air-conditioned goods such as a Cool Mat set to elderly people living alone or with their grandchild. Also, the KRC volunteers will visit their homes to check health condition and conduct emotional support activities.

The 84-year-old Kim, who is raising young granddaughter alone in a difficult environment, repeatedly thanked the volunteers who deliver the goods for a cool summer.

According to the weather forecast, the heat wave impacts central region until early July, and also impacts eastern inland of South Jeolla Province, some parts of East Coast until July 5th. The daytime temperature is expected to rise up to 31 degrees. Based on weather forecast, KRC plans to continue to support against the hot or cold weather to stabilize the livelihoods of those vulnerabilities to disasters.
